Yes. We come into
this world having descended from a corrupt seed. That seed is the seed
which lay in Adam as he disobeyed God. God commanded Adam,
"You are free to eat from any tree in the
garden; but you must not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil,
for when you eat of it you will surely die."
Genesis 2:16 NIV
Genesis 3:1-7
Now the serpent was more
crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the
woman, "Did God really say, `You must not eat from any tree in the
garden'?"
GE 3:2 The woman
said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,
3 but God did say, `You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in
the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "
GE 3:4 "You will not
surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows
that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil."
GE 3:6 When the
woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the
eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She
also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were
naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for
themselves.
Without a knowledge of good and evil, they
could not have known they were naked.
Genesis 3:8-24
Then the man and his wife
heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the
cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the
garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
GE 3:10 He answered,
"I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I
hid."
GE 3:11 And he said,
"Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I
commanded you not to eat from?"
GE 3:12 The man
said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the
tree, and I ate it."
GE 3:13 Then the
LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said,
"The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
GE 3:14 So the LORD
God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,"Cursed are you above
all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust all the days of your life.
GE 3:15 And I will
put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and
hers;he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."
GE 3:16 To the woman
he said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain
you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and
he will rule over you."
GE 3:17 To Adam he
said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which
I commanded you, `You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because
of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
GE 3:18 It will
produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the
field.
GE 3:19 By the sweat
of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since
from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."
GE 3:20 Adam named
his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.
GE 3:21 The LORD God
made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22
And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing
good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also
from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23 So the
LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from
which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he
placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword
flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
The garden was perhaps near where the Tigris
and Euphrates Rivers meet in what is today Southern Iraq.
Notice how God says that man has become like
one of us. Yet another reference to the pluerality of God in the Trinity.
God says that man has become like one of us (meaning the Tri-une Godhead,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit). It could mean many other things here but
reading through all of scripture pretty much brings you to this only
conclusion.
God said, Eat of this fruit and surely you
will die. This is a plueral death. Death of man’s spirit occurred
instantly as he defied God. Death of the flesh occurs later as man returns
to that which he came from, namely dust, dirt, earth.
As Adam was cursed, so were all the seeds in
his gonads. All Adams sperm was cursed along with him. Hence, all of
mankind is cursed. Each and every one of us at birth is cursed. We are
born without the Spirit of God in us and into certainty to die in the
flesh. GE

There is an incredible amount of knowledge
to be gained from this one chapter alone. The serpant finds it so much
easier to dupe us when he mixes a small amount of truth with his lies. Is
why satan loves religions.
The woman "saw" and it as pleasing to the
eye. Woman are keen to visual stimuli. Women are very visual in their
interaction with the world.
While women were cursed along with man, it
is the man who propogates the curse from generation to generation. It is
through male gonads that the sin is passed along. While Mary, the mother
of Jesus had original sin in her, she was unable to pass it to Jesus. Mary
was said to have found favor with God. Luke 1:30
When Adam fell, it was not directly through
the serpant but rather through his wife. As the wise serpant knew who to
approach first, the woman was the more likely to fall. Once fallen, the
man is easier to follow.
Notice that the first man was every bit the
wimp that men are today. Adam told God it was the woman who you made for
me who gave him the apple. Man will always try to shift the blame. Some
things simply never change. This reminds me of what Aaron said to Moses at
Mt. Siani. Moses came down from the mount and questioned Aaron, his
brother, what was going on with this golden calf. Aaron told Moses that
the people MADE him melt down the gold in the oven and when he opened the
door, voila, a golden calf emerged. Well truth being that Aaron had to
painstakingly sculpt the golden calf.
God loves us so even as we sin against Him. God is immediately
concerned that we, as fallen man, do not eat of the tree of Life for fear
that we obtain eternal life in our fallen condition living forever at
enmity with God destined irrevocably for the lake of fire. God makes
provision to protect us from ourselves by blocking our way to the tree of
Life here on earth. Thereby facilitating in His infinite Love for us God’s
Mighty Plan of Salvation.
OK, so we are born with sin and therefore
cannot enter heaven with any sin. This is what the whole bible is about.
It points our way to the vital need for a Savior, namely, Jesus Christ.
Without Jesus Christ, we are doomed to an eternity in the flames of the
lake of fire. We simply must believe in Jesus Christ, that He is who He
says He is and has dome what He says He has done. If we can believe in the
unbelievable, His shed blood at Calvary will wash all our sins from us and
we will be made perfect in Him and live with Him for all eternity in
Heaven.
Some of what I have said here is not so
straightforward and can only be seen after reading ALL of the bible and
praying and studying it. The most important part however, the Gospel, is
simple enough for a child to understand. Dwell on the Gospel (good news);
believe and be saved.
Once you do, God’s Holy Spirit comes
instantly inside of you to life forevermore into all eternity. We are
saved and born again in the Holy Spirit by the grace of God thru Faith.
