Masses easily deluded
God has a mother? How ludicrous! It never
ceases to amaze me how many people spend little or no time searching for
God's Truth themselves in His Holy Word. So many of the masses just do not
make the time to learn what our God has to teach us. Instead, they fulfill
their "religious" needs attending a Sunday service to satisfy themselves.
Then they believe whatever their church has decided to teach them and the
masses take that as the "gospel truth."
Do you have any idea how many so called "Christians" believe what they
are told without ever checking it out like the Bereans did against the Word
of God to see if it is so?
Acts 17:11
Now the Bereans
were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they
received the message with great eagerness and examined the
Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
I know, I used
to be one of them. The Truth is there to discover plain before everyones
eyes and ears. God does not try to hide His Truth from us. It is us who
hides from His Truth.
Common Sense would
even prevail here
Let us consider what we already
know is true about God. First and foremost is that God is an eternal being.
That is to say He does not live in a time dimension like we do. God has no
beginning and no end. It is relatively simple for us to understand the
concept of an eternal future. But, an eternal past just seems to baffle the
human mind. God just always was. No beginning, no birth, just always was.
When Moses asked God who he should tell the Israelites was the name of He
who sent him, God said to tell them
"I AM has sent me to you."
EX 3:14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM.
This is what you are to say to the Israelites: `I AM has
sent me to you.' "
The Great "I AM." God is the same
yesterday, today and forever. In our time frame, God is the alpha and the
omega, meaning the first and the last. He is first because He was before our
very beginning. God created the heavens and the earth. All things come from
Him. There is nothing that exists that has not come from Him. If it were
true that God had (has) a mother, then He would have been preceded. God
would not then have been without a beginning for His beginning would have
come from His mother. God having a mother is not only untrue, it is
blasphemous.
Was Mary the mother of God? No. Mary is the mother of
Jesus in his humanity but she or no woman or no being is the mother of
Christ in His Deity. Mary was chosen by God to be the virgin mother of
Jesus. Mary gave birth to Jesus in his flesh. She did not nor could she ever
give birth to Christ in His Deity.
Mary is the virgin mother of the man named Jesus who
already existed as God Christ in eternity past. Mary is not the mother of
Christ. Mary gave birth to a human being, not a God. For Christ had already
existed even preceding all time. Christ laid the foundations of this world
and created all things. All things come from Him. Any attribute of God in
Christ came from the Holy Spirit, not from Mary.
It is a simple twist of words to
say that Mary is the mother of God but it is in no way true nor could it
ever be true. What seems perfectly natural and applies to us in human terms
does not nor can it apply to the God-man Christ
Jesus. Through Mary by the Grace of the Holy Spirit, Christ became
man as Mary gave birth to Jesus, not Christ for Christ already existed
in perpetuity past, long before Mary's birth herself.
Further study reveals that it is blasphemous to even make
that simple twist of words. Yet throughout History and even today many major
religions "venerate Mary as the Mother of God."

What does God
have to say about this? Earlier times are described
where people venerated a "Queen of Heaven." Our Lord lumped that act
together with worshiping false gods. The people were adamant toward God
that they were blessed while worshiping the Queen of Heaven and fell
upon bad times when they stopped. They "vowed" to continue their worship
and veneration of the Queen of Heaven in spite of God's warnings to them
through the prophet Jeremiah. Now at the time of Jeremiah, this Queen of
Heaven was certainly not Mary the mother of Jesus. Consider closely what
goes on here however. Then consider how Jesus never called Mary,
"mother." Jesus always in scripture addresses Mary as, "woman." And no
it was not common at the time for sons to address their mother as
"woman" and yes all bible versions say the same thing (except
the Living Bible which is paraphrased). Only from the cross did Jesus
say to John while refering to Mary, "Behold your mother." Jesus refered
to Mary as mother only in reference to being someone elses mother, but never as His
mother. Does this sound like Jesus wanted Mary venerated as a Queen of
Heaven?
Jesus seems so careful not to steer anybody in that direction. God in
fact abhors Maryolotry.JER 7:16 "So do not pray for this people
nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I
will not listen to you. 17 Do you not see what they are doing
in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The
children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead
the dough and make cakes of bread for the
Queen
of
Heaven.
They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.
19 But am I the one they are provoking? declares the LORD. Are
they not rather harming themselves, to their own shame?
JER 44:15 Then all the men who knew that
their wives were burning incense to other gods, along with all the women
who were present--a large assembly--and all the people living in Lower
and Upper Egypt, n said to Jeremiah, 16 "We
will not listen to the message you have spoken to us in the name of the
LORD! 17 We will certainly do everything we said we would: We
will burn incense to the
Queen
of
Heaven
and will pour out drink offerings to her just as we and our fathers, our
kings and our officials did in the towns of Judah and in the streets of
Jerusalem. At that time we had plenty of food and were well off and
suffered no harm. 18 But ever since we stopped burning
incense to the
Queen
of
Heaven
and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have had nothing and have
been perishing by sword and famine."
25 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of
Israel, says: You and your wives have shown by your actions what you
promised when you said, `We will certainly carry out the vows we made to
burn incense and pour out drink offerings to the
Queen
of
Heaven.'
"Go ahead then, do what you promised! Keep your vows!
26 But hear the word of the LORD, all Jews living in Egypt:
`I swear by my great name,' says the LORD, `that no one from Judah
living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear, "As
surely as the Sovereign LORD lives." 27 For I am watching
over them for harm, not for good; the Jews in Egypt will perish by sword
and famine until they are all destroyed. 28 Those who escape
the sword and return to the land of Judah from Egypt will be very few.
Then the whole remnant of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know
whose word will stand--mine or theirs.
As blasphemous as it may
now seem to you, some religions go on to claim that salvation can also
be obtained through Mary. I shutter at the thought. The shed blood of
Jesus Christ at Calvery is the only blood that atones for our sin. None
other. It required the blood of God Himself to atone for our sin. No
human's blood would do, only that of the God-man Christ Jesus. Unlike
the sacrificial blood of animals required on an annual basis as a symbol for
temporary cleansing, the shed blood of Jesus forgives all our sins
forevermore. All our sins are completely and instantly forgiven the very
moment we believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is who He claims to
be. All our sins, past, present and future are forevermore erased. The
Father then sees those things that are as though they are not
forevermore. He lives into eternity future having no memory of our past
transgressions. How complete is His salvation! Christ
means "Messiah." Messiah means "Savior." Only Christ is our Savior.
Satan however would certainly have you believe otherwise.
